Photos of the wounds of some of the lepers we help
A project that resulted in a truly life changing event that lifted the lives of over a thousand people in these two villages. The name of the project is proudly displayed on our water tower.
Leprosy caused multiple sores at the extremities that can end in deformities of the feet if the wounds are not properly cared for. With the lack of sensation caused by leprosy, the lepers can agravate the wounds and enable secondary infections to ravage their bodies, leading to further deformities.
In 2020 , we provided medical, food and hospitalization support to 540 lepers; staffed 19 wound-care workers to take care the lepers, built 3 houses for 3 leper families; and we provided scholarships to 664 students.
Damien the Leper Society provides medication and medical instrument support to 183 lepers in Sa Thay, Dak To, Tu-Mo-Rong and Dak Ha districts of Kontum.
