A Letter to The Friends and Benefactors of DLS, May 2020
We thank you for your continued financial support during this global pandemic. Your support continues to help us bring relief to those who are so desperately in need.
We thank you for your continued financial support during this global pandemic. Your support continues to help us bring relief to those who are so desperately in need.
In 2019 , we provided medical, food and hospitalization support to 693 lepers; staffed 18 wound-care workers to take care the lepers, repaired 4 houses for 4 leper families; and we provided scholarships to 662 students.
Damien the Leper Society wants to wish everyone a merry Christmas and happy holidays!
While leprosy attacks the nerve sites and causes terrible pain, the lepers feel little pain at the actual wound sites since a lot of the nerves are no longer functioning. The results are wounds that are slow to heal and eat away the lepers’ bodies.
