While leprosy attacks the nerve sites and causes terrible pain, the lepers feel little pain at the actual wound sites since a lot of the nerves are no longer functioning. The results are wounds that are slow to heal and eat away the lepers’ bodies.
In 2018 , we provided medical, food and hospitalization support to 685 lepers; staffed 16 wound-care workers to take care of the lepers, built 4 houses for 4 leper families, repaired 4 houses for 4 leper families; and we provided scholarships to 549 students.
